Rupt-aux-Nonains, France - after José Salvaggio - Oil on Canvas - 10" x 13"

I like José Salvaggio's painting so much, I had to have a reasonable facsimile for myself.  I also wanted to explore his painting method done on location. I used his video on YT as a guide to what I did, and thus learned many good things.

Oil on Canvas Sheet - about 7-1/2" x 11-1/2"

This was supposed to be an exercise in squaring off a complex rounded form and identifying and painting the major planes. Probably not as squared off as it should be for the exercise, but I learned some anyway.

Water Tower - Ink & Brush Pen on Sketch Paper - 5-1/2" x 7"

Smaller than real size, this water tower is a decorative prop at the Griffith Park miniature train ride. It's approximately 12 feet high.  The miniature train ride has served the public in Griffith Park since 1948. Youngsters of all ages enjoy the experience of riding the train on the Griffith Park Southern Railroad.  The track stretches over a mile beginning at the station, and takes riders past the Pony Rides, through a green meadow, through an old Western town, and past a Native American village.
